For all serious collectors of Royal Doulton retired character figurines, The Tailor HN2174 is a "must have".  It is Royal Doulton at its best; the colours are rich and vibrant and the modelling detailed. 

The big featured face of The Tailor is a trademark of the excellent modellor Mary Nicoll.  She did a few figurines of a similar type in the late 1950s which are extremely sought-after.  The Tailor is one and others include In The Stocks, The Fiddler and Jolly Sailor.
