Royal Doulton's limited edition figurine of Florence Nightingale was inspired by a drawing by her sister, Parthenope, and features her pet owl, Athena.   The figurine was issued in a limited edition of 5000 and is supplied with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Florence Nightingale became known as the "Lady of the Lamp" by the British troops, when she transformed the health care they received during the Crimean War
