Craftsman
The Craftsman HN2284 was retired by Royal Doulton in 1965 and he is, not surprisingly, becoming increasingly difficult to find.
The figure depicts an 18th century cabinet-maker, which may have been based on a well-known painting of Thomas Chippendale at work dated 1779. Certainly the style of the chair under construction is typical of Chippendale's work.
