One of the most dramatic episodes of World War II was the evacuation of thousands of children from British cities affected by bombing campaigns to safer rural areas. The Royal Doulton Children of the Blitz Collection of four figurines depicts the poignant scenes of a young boy and girl being forced to leave their families and the same children joyously returning after the War and being reunited with their pets.

Welcome Home HN3299 shows the boy just having retured home with his rucksack over his shoulder and catapult in his pocket.  A bag of fresh vegetables from the countryside sits at his feet.  He lovingly embraces the big ginger tom cat who he has missed so much whilst away.

Each figurine from The Children of the Blitz collection was issued in a limited edition of 9500 and each is supplied here with its numbered certificate of authenticity.
