The Country Maid HN3163 from Royal Doulton is one of three figurines released together as a farming set, the other two being The Farmer (with a sack of barley) and The Farmer's Wife (carrying a basket of eggs).  The Country Maid is by far the most difficult to find out of the three.

The calf is turning round to lick the hand of the milkmaid and she in turn pats the calf's head.  It's a charming figure and displays equally well as one of the set or on its own.
