She is shown seated, dressed in traditional Welsh costume and about to play the harp, one of Wales' most treasured musical instruments. This British bone china, handmade and hand-decorated figure modelled by Valerie Annand, is one of the most challenging pieces created by Royal Doulton in many years. Initially, the figure was sculpted around a rough version of the harp, with special care taken to ensure her arms and knees were positioned precisely. Simultaneously, the harp was exclusively created out of solid brass by Birmingham-based Jeweller RJ Stowe, with great accuracy in its detail. Finally, the two elements were combined to create this unique masterpiece, which is only available in a limited edition of 1250.
