The Newsboy HN2244 by Royal Doulton depicts a young newsvendor.  He's wrapped up warmly against the weather as he stands on the streets selling his newspapers.  Under one arm he carries a bundle of papers and in this hand he carries also a placard with the word Extra at the top.  A limited edition of the figurine was later issued which was made especially for the local Stoke-on-Trent newspaper the Evening Sentinel, in this model the word Extra was replaced with Sentinel.

Newsboy is a good quality character study by the very talented Mary Nicoll and rarely comes up for sale.
